Who are we ?

National History

Welcome to Centrale Supelec – SPE Student Chapter.

 

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit professional organization whose missions are:

  • Collecting, disseminating, and exchanging technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources and related technologies for the public benefit,

  • Providing opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional skills.

The SPE France Section was founded in 1984. In 2013, the association counts with more than 800 members who share the same passion for the Oil and Gas industry.

The SPE France Section also gathers four Student Chapters in Universities and Graduate Schools making it easy for students to network with industry professionals, attend discussions, conferences and debates regarding E&P technology and learn more about the industry. French SPE Student Chapters are associated to:

  • IFP School

  • Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie de Nancy

  • Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour

  • Mines ParisTech

  • Centrale Supelec

Chapter History

​

The Centrale Supélec – SPE Student Chapter is an independent subsidiary of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, a worldwide institution whose goal is to promote technical knowledge in the upstream oil industry and create opportunities for networking with petroleum engineers from all around the world.

 

 

For our first year of existence, the SPE Student Chapter wishes to keep its members aware of major trends that affect the industry evolution and prepare them the best to their future work environment.

 

The SPE Student Chapter: “SPE Student Chapter – Centrale Supélec” is located at Gif-sur-Yvette, south of Paris, and is part of the SPE France section. At Centrale Supélec, the SPE Student Chapter is open for all the students interested in the oil and gas industry from the Fossil Fuels Energy option (3rd year students). Our student chapter organizes extra-curricular activities that benefit the students to develop their knowledge and skills related to the oil and gas business. We try to give the best opportunities for the students interested in improving their knowledge at Centrale Supélec.

 

This year the aim of the Student Chapter Board is to get used to the SPE habits and make everything ready for the board to come in 2015.
